SPRING UPDATE 2023: Buyers Edition
Spring has arrived! As a buyer, what do I need to do to get ready for a busy season?

Spring is here!
The weather is warming up and so is the market. More listings typically come on the market once the snow melts, and so, as a buyer, let's get prepared to make your move.
Here are some things that you should check off your list:
Finances: Have you talked to your lender? With a busy market and more competition, having a strong offer and ready finances is far more likely to get your offer accepted. Our local lenders have lots of great resources and programs to get you prequalified and ready to purchase.
Moving Situation: If you need to sell a home first, is your previous home listed? Many sellers won't consider an offer with a contingency on another transaction in case of a 'domino' situation. Looking into renting or staying with family/friends short term might be a good option. Having the cash on hand rather than waiting for your previous home to close is far more desirable in a seller's mind.
Area Scouting: Out of state buyer? A great time to check out remote properties is early spring, when the property is at its worst. Potholes, mud, ice, and seeing the property during the snow melt can reveal some drawbacks about the property. Flooding, bad road access, leaks and drainage issues and much more.
With more listings on the market, you'll have more options to consider, but there will be more buyers to compete with you. Do your research and get a good local agent and lender. They'll be prepared to assist you in every way possible.
