WHY DO PEOPLE MOVE TO IDAHO? Bonners Ferry Idaho Real Estate

Joanna Rice • April 24, 2024

Real Reasons from our Clients and Friends

Idaho seemed to be on the top ten list of states to move to the last few years.

Our little corner of the Idaho Panhandle did not escape all the newcomers. Boundary County alone had over 12% increase in population from 2020 to 2023.

We love this place and understand why Bonners Ferry has appealed to so many. Here’s just a few reasons:

Small town life: This town has so much to offer, from several local coffee shops, parks, hiking trails, lakes, and more. The community is supportive and a great place to live, work, and play.

Slower pace: Many of our clients came from big cities and were either retiring or job switching from a hectic pace of life. After living in a jam packed city, peaceful Bonners Ferry is a breath of fresh air.

Outdoor Lifestyle: There’s no end to playing outside in Idaho! Bonners Ferry is surrounded by the Selkirk, Cabinet and Purcell Mountains making it easy to escape for an hour or a weekend! Schweitzer Mountain and some of the best skiing in the PNW is only 40 minutes away. Grab your hiking boots and get out!

Community: Bonners Ferry was named the friendliest town in Idaho for a good reason. While our town has grown in the past years, it retains its charm that so many people fell in love with. Small businesses thrive here with the support of the local community.

Cost of living: Us locals might complain about prices of just about everything going up, but many people coming from out of state are used to much higher prices. Compared to the rest of the nation, Idaho is on the affordable side.
