WHY DO PEOPLE MOVE OUT OF IDAHO? Bonners Ferry Idaho Real Estate
Real Reasons from our Clients and Friends
The truth is... Idaho may not be the perfect fit for everyone, and that’s okay! Here are some common reasons we’ve heard from those considering moving away from or not choosing Idaho as their home, and why it might not fit for you.
Weather: If you prefer warmer climates or shorter winters, Idaho’s extended periods of below 60-degree weather might not suit you. Even in Bonners Ferry’s milder ‘banana belt,’ we still experience an average of 45 inches of snow and enjoy about 170 sunny days annually.
Jobs: Embracing our small-town charm means limited local job opportunities, or a commute to a larger town. Many of our clients are either retired or work from home. However, our tight-knit community strongly supports small businesses, fostering entrepreneurship and remote work opportunities.
Small town: While the close-knit community of Bonners Ferry is attractive to most, it can also be a challenge for others. Bonners Ferry does not have every convenience that is available in bigger cities. We love supporting local businesses but all of us will also drive over an hour for the airport, big box stores, entertainment and other reasons.
Life Changes: Whether it’s personal circumstances like divorce, a death, or the need for a fresh start, life changes can prompt a move to another state. We’re here to support our clients through any transitions they may face.
Downsizing/Family:
As life goes on, priorities shift, and for some, a large home or property may no longer align with their needs, especially as empty nesters. Many of our clients choose to relocate to be closer to family, seeking a more laid back lifestyle that fits their current stage of life.
Whatever your reason for considering a move, we’re here to help you find the perfect place to call home, whether it’s in Idaho or beyond.
Why did you leave Idaho? Would you ever move back?
