SUMMER UPDATE 2023: Sellers Edition

June 21, 2023

SUMMER has arrived! As a Seller, what do I need to do to navigate this busy season?

The craziness of summer has arrived. School is out, but it's also the time for busy work schedules, traveling, and working on home projects.

Many people are passing through, looking to move to the area, and summer is a great time to search for a new home. So, if you have your home on the market or are planning to list it, here are a few tips to keep in mind.

PUTTING YOUR HOME ON THE MARKET: Getting your home ready to list doesn't have to be difficult or stressful. The most important thing to do is declutter, depersonalize, and keep up with maintenance. Consider temporarily removing extra clutter and storing it away. Take down personal or valuable items. Doing small repairs and updates, as well as giving your home a thorough cleaning, will boost its appeal to potential buyers. Curb appeal should also be factored in. Clean your gutters, work on the landscaping, check if the exterior or decks need painting, and take a trip to the dump to dispose of any trash or debris.

HAVING YOUR HOME FOR SALE: While your home is for sale, you'll have buyers coming to look at your property with their agents. Interested and serious buyers will want to see the house in person before making an offer. Don't feel pressured to have your home perfect for showings. A quick decluttering from everyday life and cleaning the counters, windows, bathrooms, and floors is sufficient. We'll help you evaluate the offers you receive and navigate the escrow process.

ESCROW DURING THE BUSY SEASON: Buyers will choose and schedule their inspections and appraisals. As a seller, your focus should be on packing up and moving on to your next home. Getting a storage unit or temporary rental may be necessary, and although they can be scarce in the summer, we will assist you in every way possible to find what you need.

Moving in the middle of summer, with school out and good weather, is easier and simpler for most people. If you ensure that you have done your research and have an experienced Realtor by your side, we can make this a smooth transition.
