Step 3 - Prepping your Home for Photos & Showings

Home Staging Tips:
  • Style Thoughtfully:

The way your home is presented can greatly influence buyers. Create a space that feels inviting and allows them to envision living there.

  • Clear the Clutter:

Removing personal items and decluttering is key to making your home feel spacious and appealing to potential buyers.

  • Capture a Lasting First Impression:

High quality photos are essential for showcasing your home's best features and making a strong first impression.

Exterior:

Tidy up the Landscaping:

Keep your yard looking its best by cutting the grass, watering flowers, the garden and landscaping, and trimming trees and bushes. Discard any clutter and put extra personal items in storage.

Weed & Revitalize:

Remove any weeds and refresh mulching or bark to keep your outdoor spaces neat and vibrant.

EnHance Entry Areas:

Repaint or re-stain porches, entryways, and doorways for a welcoming first impression.

Clear the Gutters:

Clean out gutters to keep them free of leaves and debris.

Interior:

Repaint in Neutral Tones:

Choose a neutral color palette to create a welcoming atmosphere for all buyers.

Depersonalize the Space:

Remove personal artifacts and replace them with simple, neutral decor.

Organize & Declutter:

Arrange for pets and children, clear toys and clutter from main living areas, and ensure all lightbulbs are working.

Brighten & Freshen:

Wash windows, open curtains to let in natural light, and make sure walkways are clear and accessible.

This checklist is just a guide to help you prepare your home for listing and marketing. Remember to keep in touch with your realtor for personalized tips and advice to make your home as attractive as possible.
