So what's community water?
Private wells are technically only accessed by one or maybe two households; shared wells by maybe 2 or more neighbors; while a community water system is one large public well with great access to water that sustains a larger community of people. So if you have a community water membership, typically you'll have a monthly bill that will vary on how much water you use.
Here's the definition from IDWR: "Community water system - A public water system which serves at least
15 service connections used by year-round residents or regularly serves at least 25 year round residents."

Community water districts do test regularly to ensure the water is safe to drink. We have several different districts in Boundary County depending on your location. Availability has been a frequently asked question, so talk to your local realtor and the people at the districts for more information.
