Living Here

Groceries, hardware, feed stores, vets, places to eat, and where to put up visitors.

You can get most of what you need without leaving the county, and the rest is a Sandpoint run. This chapter is the practical directory, groceries to propane, that we wish someone had handed us.

Everyday Services

Bonners Ferry has three grocery stores, three building supply yards, two feed stores, two veterinary clinics, a Les Schwab and a county landfill that takes household waste from residents at no charge. For a big-box run, Ponderay and Sandpoint are 35 to 40 minutes south.
